Peter was the type of captain that led by example on the ice. He was only here for two years, but to his teammates it had felt like he was there for four or five years. I had a lot of fun playing with him. He was the type of guy that brings the guys together and was respected a lot. - Simon Gagne
PETER FORSBERG
2006-07

It had taken 14 years since the Flyers drafted Peter Forsberg sixth overall in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft, but the time had finally arrived for him to step on the ice in an Orange & Black sweater.

The two-time Stanley Cup champion, former NHL Rookie of the Year, Art Ross and Hart Trophy winner as both scoring champion and MVP of the NHL, took only one season with the Flyers to turn heads among the Philly fans and teammates alike.

He averaged over a point per-game, recording 75 points (19G,56A) in 60 games during the regular season and added another 40 points as captain of the squad the following year in 2006-07.

In 100 career games with the Flyers, Forsberg collected 30 goals, 85 assists for 115 points.
