Kevin was a terrific leader on and off the ice. His passion for the game was incredible and infectious. - Mark Recchi

Succeeding long time Flyer Rick Tocchet as team captain, Kevin Dineen’s tenure as team captain went far beyond the locker room or the ice. He was known as a guy who would anything for his team, and for his teammates, went above and beyond winning hockey games.

Dineen represented a shift in Flyers hockey during the early 90's. The Flyers had not made the playoffs in five seasons, but helping to guide the emerging star status of Eric Lindros, Dineen and the Flyers were back on the path of success again, making the playoffs in his final season with the team.

Playing parts of five seasons with the Flyers, Dineen collected 176 points with 88 goals and 88 assists to go along with 533 penalty minutes in 284 games. He was perhaps best known for playing for his father Bill Dineen, who was head coach of the team for two seasons.
